Career. Trained at Parsons School of Design in New York, Caroline Sarkozy gained extensive experience working for the exacting Andrée Putman. A nomadic childhood between Asia, the Middle East and the USA, gives her a panoramic approach to influences and styles. Laurent Bourgois graduated from the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and has over the years concentrated on Architecture and Interior Architecture projects in the private sector.

Signature Style. Together they have a refreshing take on classical style and absolute elegance achieved through exquisite ‘French style’ craftsmanship, a trademark of their interiors, which is appreciated by their private international clientele.

They love. For Caroline Sarkozy, textures, feel, colours, the grandeur of onyx, marble and glass, which form part of their interiors, and a sense of cosiness which comes from her Anglo-Saxon influence. Master of the invisible, detailing and impeccable execution, Laurent Bourgois is drawn to raw materials like wood and plaster as transformed by the craftman’s hand.

Showstoppers. The techniques they apply to marble, their use of onyx in the bathrooms of private residences, a form of supreme made-to-measure luxury.

What’s up. A chalet in Aspen, an apartment on Park Avenue, New York, a villa in the Middle East, a duplex on Eaton Square in London and a home in Saint Germain-des-Prés.
