Portrait. Born in a Lebanese family, raised in Japan, Nada Debs graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in the United States. She then moved to London where she began designing and producing custom furniture. Cosmopolitan and prolific, her multicultural approach has made her one of Lebanon’s design and furniture stars.

Background. Nada Debs returned to live in Beirut at the age of forty, determined to promote her oriental heritage, while mixing it with Japanese influences.

Signature Style. “Contemporary Arabesque”; Mix of Japanese materials, traditional marquetry, fantastic colors, Nada Debs magnifies oriental handicrafts with a timeless contemporary eye.

She loves. From her childhood in Japan, she kept the memory of mixtures of concrete and wood from Tadao Ando construction work. She loves Royère, who has worked extensively in Lebanon, including a house for the Shah of Iran. Nada collects ceramics from all over the world.

What’s up. Nada Debs has recently launched her latest collection – Now & Zen, inspired by the vibrant colors found in the anime culture and in modern day Japan and which have expanded on the brand’s use of materials and colors. This collection has been featured globally and is already carried at major retailers from Dubai to London.
