Stories News Spotted On Ad Intérieurs: Atelier Tristan Auer

Some of our favorite designers are on show in Paris; and their best designs are available on The Invisible Collection!

To celebrate its 10th edition, AD Intérieurs staged a wonderful exhibition in Paris, inviting 13 design and architecture studios to create some original livable spaces. Among the designers in the spotlight, five names should sound familiar, as they are part of our roster of talents: Bismut & Bismut, Humbert & Poyet, Atelier Tristan Auer, Thierry LemairePierre Gonalons and Stéphane Parmentier artistic director of Creations Dragonfly. All of them displayed their usual unsurpassed creativity to conceive the most unexpected dreamlike spaces.

For this year edition, Tristan Auer presents Le wagon-bar pour Orient-Express :

Inside and outside, past and future are intertwined in this hybrid space. The Empire green lacquered sheet metal wall panels evoke the mythical railway cars when the historic armchairs dating from 1920 or the carpet signed Suzanne Lalique refer to their interior layout. The Asian silks coloured in canvas on the ceiling symbolise the rebirth of L’Orient-Express as a hotel brand that will inaugurate its first address in Bangkok in 2020. It’s all about travel and blending.

Tristan Auer

An interior and emotion architect, Tristan Auer designs beautifully sensual and singular interiors. His extremely rich and aesthetic vision finds its finest expression in vibrant colour, lights and era mixes. From the Hôtel de Crillon and the Bains-Douches in Paris, to the prestigious works in private houses in London and New York, all the way to Moustique Island, he operates with the style of a stage director, his client being both the main actor in his screenplay and his accomplice in this on-going quest for elegance. As an ambassador of a certain French “art de vivre”, Tristan Auer combines his very modern vision with arts and crafts excellence to give a new definition of contemporary luxury. Tristan Auer grew up in Aix-en-Provence. After graduating at ESAG-Penninghen, he joined forces with the Christian Liaigre team, and then Philippe Starck before he went on starting his own interior design firm in Paris in 2002.
