A graduate from famed Ecole Boulle, Erwan Boulloud stands out for his unique know-how and artistry. After working for many great designers in the likes of Hubert Le Gall and Hervé Van Der Straeten, and creating exhibition sets for famous museums including the Louvre, the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers and the Muséum d’histoire naturelle, he opened his namesake studio in 2003 and began designing his own furniture collection.
A poet with materials, his exceptional furniture – one-off pieces and limited editions- is a pure example of art and techniques brought together to perfection. Wood, concrete and metal merge into some exceptional pieces of furniture and lighting fixtures; the finishes vary from raw and scorched, to polished, mat, and chiseled. His work has a sculptural feel, artwork-like that may be sometimes whimsical yet it never loses its functional purpose.
Working and exploring materials without limitations in order to really discover their potential. “Beyond aesthetics, a piece works through its ability to continue being relevant to future generations,” says Erwan explaining why furniture must convey meaning.
His sublimely curved designs in brass, one-of-a-kind pieces whose surface is sculpted with waves and inlaid with lapis lazuli or rock crystal. His metal wall lamps, which conjure an unparalleled play of light and shadow. His one-off designs sought after by major collectors.
The Invisible Collection has the pleasure of presenting a selection of designs by Erwan Boulloud, available for purchase on our website.
