Background

A graduate of the École Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Marseille and the Ecole nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, François Champsaur acquired solid experience working alongside the great names such as the Italian Architect Massimiliano Fuksas, the Designer Pascal Mourgues and also Christian Liaigre, renowned for his French-style chic. In 1996, he started his own Interior Architecture agency through which he creates both furniture designs and works on prestigious projects in France and abroad.

Signature Style

Discreet and comfortable luxury where the aim seems to be the expression of the contemporary art of living. His Marseilles origins, tint the elegance of his graphic lines, infusing them with a unique sensuality. From his first projects onwards, he has approached space and volumes by creating an incredible tension between the overall effect and the treatment of detail. He creates spaces that nourish the senses. His desire to utilise the best know-how remains essential in the conception of his projects.

Showstoppers

For his collection of furniture and lighting edited and manufactured by Pouenat, a study in geometry which highlights the infinite possibilities of metal – the forms may be fluid or angular but the result is always marked by elegance and refinement. He loves nature, light, simple materials and clean lines from which emanates a sense of serenity. His affinity with the south of France, its colour and light, lend a very lively conviviality to spaces that are sometimes a challenge to tackle for those exact reasons, such as the Yearlings auction room at Deauville where he has recently completed the restaurants, bars and VIP rooms.

What’s up

He has transformed luxury hotels such as the Royal Evian on the shores of Lake Geneva, Hôtel Vernet, the Metropolitan, and the Hôtel du Ministère in Paris, iconic restaurants such as the Troisgros in Roanne, the Café de l’Alma in Paris, the Poulpe in Marseille, as well as numerous homes for private clients and art collectors across the world.
