Signature style

A multi-faceted body of work created through modified etching techniques, which has resulted in highly unique and eclectic pieces. Michael has created a world where decoration is reexamined by merging two different artistic techniques.

He loves

Drawings above all else. His many sources of inspiration include René Lalique’s Art Nouveau, Chinese paper-cuts from the Gaomi folk art tradition – on which his sculptures are based- and 17th-century still-life paintings of the Northern School.

Showstoppers

His mural sculptures – better known as wall jewelry- made with cut copper plates that he uses to etch copper, paper, and fabrics; the color palette of his sublime bespoke wallpapers that evoke the fantastic imagery of ancient frescos.
