Bismut & Bismut

Brothers, architects and designers, the duo have always followed their taste for clean lines, which emphasises light and perspective. From visual identities to interior design and furniture design, they have a cross-disciplinary approach. Their signature materials – Stucco, glass, wood – give a jewel box quality to everything they touch. From the conception of a building to the detail of a door handle or a piece of furniture, they revisit the classics, without dismissing the object’s story, whilst continuing to project a contemporary vision.

Background

Architects and designers, the two brothers have always been driven by their taste for clean lines and perspectives, and by using light to sculpt the space. The appreciation of beautiful objects and furniture is something that runs deep in their family, as both their grandfather and father were talented interior designers. Their cross-disciplinary approach encompasses visual identity, architectural projects, and interior design and furniture pieces.

Signature Style

Their signature materials – brass, marble, and wood – add a luxurious feel to everything they create. From the conception of a building to the detail of a door handle or the making of a piece of furniture, they revisit classic styles, without dismissing the object’s history, whilst projecting a contemporary vision. Catering to an international clientele, they have designed many commercial projects for fashion brands in the likes of Yohji Yamamoto, Tod’s, Hogan, the famed Moscow concept store James, and for the Government of Singapore, and some private projects in Paris – namely the renovation of Haussmann-style stunning apartments. They also designed their first luxury yacht for Sanlorenzo Shipyard. One of their designs is part of the permanent collection of “Mobilier National”.

Showstoppers

A highly graphic, understated sophistication is at the heart of all their interiors. The austere elegance of their furniture collection, their attention to detail and their eye for interesting colour palettes. Marble, metal and dark wood are beautified by shiny polished surfaces or matt ones: all materials are raw yet precious.
