The Ghan coffee table, designed by Charlotte Juilliard, is a fascinating item born out of the slightly unnatural combination of a recycled plastic top, a recycled oak base (burnt or peat-stained) and a brass spacer.
“The legs of the Ghan table have stories to tell – says Juilliard – : found among the scraps from a railway sleeper factory, the wooden pieces are then charred. The curved recycled plastic top is slid between two solid blocks of wood, thus creating a balance between the dense, rough base of the table and the soft lines of the top.”
Ghan is available in two sizes.
