Fairytales taught us that mirrors can be treacherous things (ask Snow White!) However, interior decorators and architects think quite the opposite, as mirrors are their best allies. Think of the spectacular manmade wonder known as “Galerie des Glaces”, the famed Hall of Mirrors in Versailles. Commissioned by King Louis XIV, the breathtaking gallery designed by Charles Le Brun, features seventeen grand windows with on the opposite side seventeen equally large pieces reproducing images of the beautiful, outside garden during the day, and reflecting candlelight at night. Today still, this special room holds all its magic, and Maria Grazia Chiuri – to name but one- chose it to stage the Christian Dior Couture Show. .

The Invisible Collection presents a carefully edited selection of covetable mirrors created by contemporary star designers - including AD 100 listers. Impeccably handmade by the best European artisans, our mirrors are exceptionally well crafted and reflect our curatorial eye for contemporary, one-of-a-kind designs.

In addition to their esthetic function, mirrors are sought after for their versatility. They can give grandeur to the room and add depth; they can create playful visual illusions to enhance the overall setting or highlight a specific object. We have handpicked many gorgeous designs including some stunning pieces by Stephen Antonson, best known as the Master of Plaster. The American designer tapped into early French Art Deco style and revisited it with a contemporary twist, delivering some striking mirrors in white plaster.

When choosing mirrors for purely decorative purposes you will find an array of stunning designs made by the skilled master goldsmiths at Goossens. Known for manufacturing most of Coco Chanel’s costume & couture jewelry in the fifties, as well as bespoke designs for her home, the French brand has created some striking pieces including the Stones Mirror, a grand rectangular frame soaked in a bath of 24 carat yellow gold and encrusted with hundreds of rock crystal stones.

Our selection of covetable mirrors includes the iconic Satellite Mirror 1927, created by Eileen Gray for her Villa E-1027.
